Chase said to me this morning “I’m sick of this freakin’ rain!” Me too!!! Really… the week of teaser summer got us all so happy and now we’re back in the cooped up, grouchy, climbing the walls dumps! We need to be outside!!! Hopefully we see sun soon!
Here are a few things we’ve been up to in the house. Chase and Cooper can’t stay off each other. Seriously, they are on top of each other constantly. I think of Tommy Boy and say to myself “Brothers don’t shake hands, Brothers gotta hug!” or wrestle, or something like it!
Ellie’s first pigtails! So cute! But she did not enjoy getting them put in. I also get so frustrated because it takes forever to get her hair in and she usually rips it out in the car before we get wherever we’re going. I’ve also given up putting shoes on her until we’re getting out of the car because she takes them off as soon as I buckle her in her seat. (As I’m writing this Ellie keeps saying “Ellie’s sad. She’s crying.”)
This is what story time before bedtime looks like with daddy! He’s usually laying on the floor like this with all three and Ellie has to lie on him right in the middle! Cut and funny!
I think I say to the kids “Are you totally serious?!?” A LOT! Like whenever they say anything and I want to give them some kind of response. So lately Chase has taken this statement on, only he has it a little backward because he’ll say “Are you totally kidding?!?” It is so cute! And he’s so intense when he says it. I explained the serious and kidding thing to him, so now he gets it right about 3/4 of the time. It actually makes me a little sad, because the “Are you totally kidding?!?” was so cute! Ellie is into kissing EVERYTHING to make it better! For example I bumped my hip on the counter and she came up and said “It’s ok, I kiss you bum better.” And sure enough she did! She kisses all of our owies better! Cooper likes to have my total attention when he talks to me so he keep saying MOM until I look at him and give him my undivided attention. And in the car if someone else is talking over him he’ll say “Stop talking, it’s my turn to talk.” And he’ll start over until he feels he’s been heard. I actually think this is a good thing. We always need to learn to take turns and I know Troy thinks I talk over EVERYONE, so it’s a good lesson for me. I love the funny things the kids say! Keeps me happy when I’m a grouch!
