Part two… Monkey’s and the Panama Canal!
We went to a place called Monkey Island and the we got to feed the monkeys apples right out of our hands. The kids LOVED it! It really was amazing! It was pretty hot and rained a little. Cooper had been sick but perked up when the monkeys came out. Ellie did not enjoy the ride out but loved seeing the monkeys! We also saw a crocodile that was about 12 feet long about 20 yards from our boat(cool and scary). And it was wild to be IN the Panama Canal right up against these giant ships! In places it felt like we were on the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland, only real life!
We went to the Panama Temple. It’s right down the street from the Canal Museum and we hear you can see it from the ships as they go through the locks.
The locks of the canal.
We went on the half canal tour with everyone. It was about 8 hours total. The kids were pretty good, but it was a long hot day! We distracted them with tunes and food. They did like being on the ferry boat and going through the locks. Ellie crashed for about 3 hours which saves our lives. It really is and amazing thing to see! A nice lady asked if she could take our picture. I’m so glad she did. We didn’t get many all together!
