Girls and donuts

janet 08262010 019

Today this little girl had a complete and total meltdown that lasted 18 minutes. I am not kidding!  Slobber, snot and tears.  She would not be consoled.  She would not settle down no matter what I tried and if I moved her she would come back and stand right in front of me, stare me down and keep on going.  If I tried to pick her up she would arch back and fall on the floor.  It was painful for both of us and it went on FOREVER! Honestly, I don’t even know what started it.  So later, when she wouldn’t eat her dinner, and her brothers had finished theirs and got their donuts for desert, and I told her no until she ate her dinner, and she looked like she was warming up for round two… I gave her donuts for dinner.   Sometimes it’s hard to be a girl… I understand… I would like donuts for dinner every night!

I remember from between age 2 and 3 Hans would have total freak outs. Not just tantrum but pure rage and as quick as it started, it would stop. I was worried for awhile but thankfully he grew out of it. Poor Ellie. Although, I may start doing that if it will get me donuts for dinner too.
