We went to Fish Lake for Troy’s Family Reunion, then came home repacked and left for camping at Spruces for my Family Reunion! It was a full week and we had a great time. The boys loved the lake and playing in the cabins with their cousins and fishing with Dad and Uncle Jeremy and Cousin Reagan. Reagan even caught a fish! Mom and Ellie just watched and Ellie entertained herself with a bag of Fruit Loops! Good times!
This is us going on the boat to catch fish. Notice the water. CALM. Hmmm… not for long. Ten minutes in, Troy and his Dad had just got all the poles in the water and it started to “sprinkle”, which turned to “really rain”, which turned to “major down poor”, which turned to “FREAKIN’ PELTING RAIN AND HAIL”! The kids were all freaking out bawling, while we all try to huddle under the tiny cover that’s pretty much just meant for the driver of the boat. Ellie was already mad about being in her straight jacket/life jacket, and it was all too much for her. Troy found her binkie in his pocket and I popped it in and she fell asleep amid the terror in about 3 seconds. Still, it was a LONG 7 minute ride back to the dock. Later that afternoon in the car Chase says “Mom, I don’t want to go fishin’ anymore.” Who could blame him?
On to Spruces. The boys loved being totally dirty and climbing the giant tree and running around with the other Cousins. Ellie was as cute as ever. The first picture is pre mosquito bites(10 on her little face) and pre face plant off her camping chair. Poor baby came home pretty beat up.
I love this picture of Chase because he was just sitting on this tree stump and when I told him to smile he looked up and fell over. Then he says “Whoa, I jus about feww over.” Cute little chum!
The boys and Troy saw a big moose. It was just behind the bathroom by our camp. Cooper still tells everyone “We saw a BIG MOOSE!” Wild life is always a highlight.
And this is what you get to do when your the Grandparents! NOTHING!!! Doesn’t that sound great?!? But my favorite thing about this picture is that both of my parents have on TWO pairs of glasses. Reading and Sun! Love it!
